AkbukLocated on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, between the resorts of Bodrum and Kusadasi lies the quiet resort of Akbuk. Surrounded by natural pine forests and olive groves, Akbuk is a nature lover's paradise and with some of the best beaches throughout the region on offer it's easy to see why there has been a considerable increase in people looking to buy property in Akbuk in recent years.

 

Akbuk's location in a picturesque bay to the east of Altinkum, has meant it has avoided large-scale development to date, and as such the region retains a large amount of its original charm. It's superb, Mediterranean climate offers residents average of over 300 days sunshine each year, and despite average temperatures reaching the high 30 degrees Celsius, the resort is cooled by the gentle breeze from the surrounding hills.

 

There are a number of ancient Roman and Greek historical sites in the vicinity of Akbuk, including the Virgin Mary's house and the ancient cities of Didyma, Prienne and Miletos. Within the resort itself, there is a wide selection of activities for visitors of all ages. The picturesque harbour area is home to a number of boat and tour operators who regularly offer trips to the nearby islands and bays. This is often one of the best ways to see what is arguably one of Turkey's most picturesque stretches of coastline. For more active tourists and residents a wide range of sports are available including golf, watersports and Paragliding, all of which are available from modest fee.

 

In the evenings, a selection of superb restaurants and cafe bars offer a range of local and international cuisine designed to cater for every taste and preference! For fans of seafood, the local restaurants offer an excellent range of fish and other types of seafood which are locally caught.

 

Access to Akbuk is from the main airport at Bodrum, which is approximately 45 minutes drive away from the resort. At present a new road is being considered from Bodrum airport, which would reduce the transfer time to approximately 30 minutes.

 

Over the course of the past two years, there has been a sustained increase in demand for property in Akbuk predominantly due to the large increase in tourism throughout the region.
