Property in Valencia
Situated on the south eastern coast of Spain, the region of Valencia is home to over 5 million inhabitants, and covers an area of over 23,000 square kilometres. With over 500 kilometres of Mediterranean coastline, Valencia is one of Spain's premier tourist destinations, and millions of visitors enter the Valencia region each year through the international airports in Alicante and Valencia. The region of Valencia is in fact divided into three major provinces. At the far south of the region is the province of Alicante, home to the famous Costa Blanca. The focus of the Spanish tourist industry for almost fifty years, Alicante is home to a number of leading resorts including Denia, Altea, Javea, Moraira as well as the towns of Benidorm, Alicante and Torreieja further down the coast.
To the north of the region lies the mountainous province of Castellon. An intriguing blend of the old and the new, Castellon is home to a number of picturesque towns including Alcossebre, Peniscola and Benicassim. The city of Castellon itself is a modern and dynamic city, home to a number of interesting museums and other attractions.
In between the regions of Castellon and Alicante is the capital city of Valencia. An exciting and dynamic city, Valencia is a popular tourist destination in itself, and attractions such as its magical Old Quarter and trendy Barrio del Carmen districts regularly attract tourists from all over the world. For fans of modern architecture, the iconic City of Arts and Sciences is widely lauded as one of the leading examples of European modern architectural design.
The strength of the tourist industry in the region has ensured that there is a consistent demand for property in Valencia, particular from overseas markets such as the UK and Germany. As mentioned earlier, the Valencia region is well served by the international airports in Valencia and Alicante. A large number of low cost airlines now fly into both airports ensuring cheap and easy access on a daily basis from the UK.
