Bodrum tops holiday location searches for travel website.

 

Bodrum MarinaA new report out from Cheapflights.co.uk has shown that Bodrum has become the most popular destination for people wishing to book a holiday on the website in 2011. The recently released Rising Stars Report 2011 is based on search volumes on the company's website for the first six months of the year compared to 2010. Over the period, Bodrum showed an impressive increase of 971% over the period ahead of other destinations including Greece, Hawaii and Japan. 

 

Cheapflights.co.uk travel expert, Nadine Hallak, commented: “The trend shows that travel is still a priority even if budgets are tight. Continued economic slowdown has only served to create new destination trends with consumers literally willing to go the distance in places that will stretch their pounds.”

 

The news is the latest in a series of positive announcements regarding the Turkish tourism industry which has seen a boom over the course of the past 12 months. On the back of the huge increase in tourism throughout the country, the demand for property in Turkey has risen considerably over the same period.
