Cityscape 2008 Closes Its Doors
The Cityscape 2008 exhibition yesterday closed on a highlight, with a visit to the exhibition by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who reiterated the Dubai governments support for its real estate and construction market stating that despite the liquidity crisis being felt throughout the global property market, the UAE's macroeconomic fundamentals remained on solid ground.
Despite the issues facing the global real estate industry, the Cityscape 2008 exhibition was declared a resounding success, with over AED 500 billion worth of project announcements, and an estimated 70,000 visitors from all over the world. Highlights of the show included the Michael Schumacher Tower in Abu Dhabi, Meeras' new Jumeirah Gardens development in the old Satwa area and Nakheels stunning new 1 kilometre tall 'Nakheel Harbour and Tower' development.
