Conti Sees Increase In Interest For Mortgages In Turkey

2010 looks like being a good year for the Turkish property market, as mortgage quotations continue to increase in the region. Conti Financial Services, one of the leading providers of overseas property mortgages, has reported that May 2010 saw approximately double the amount of mortgage requests reported for the same period the year before.

Conti's operations director, Claire Nestling went on to say " these factors, combined with low interest rates and some bargain property prices, have made Turkey increasing the attractive, as well is more affordable, free UK buyers. Property purchase costs and taxes there tend to be lower than other popular hotspots. Accessibility is important to the country has a wide choice of airports which are well served by flights from the UK. Bodrum, for example, is only half an hour's drive from the international airport."

Here at offplanworld, we have seen a considerable increase in the interest levels throughout the Turkish region. In particular, the resort's  of Fethiye and Alanya have seen substantial increases in the number of enquiries from people in the UK. As well as the resort regions, Istanbul has also proven consistently popular over the course of the past 12 months as investors are attracted to their healthy returns available from this booming city.

At the heart of this increase in interest in property in Turkey has been the country's booming tourism industry. Last year, Turkey welcomed more than 27 million foreign visitors to its shores an increase of almost 3% on the previous year. This despite a global downturn in tourism.
